Extra Stuff

Writing Assignment Information

  • 500-800 words
  • Pick three or four “functions” of language from Ch 1-7 (functions could be e.g., generating reports, providing affective connotations, purr/snarl, directive language, etc.,)
  • Explain how these functions manifest in a particular discipline of your interest (sociology, history, econ, etc.,)
  • Include 1-2 outside sources
  • First rough draft due for revision Sept 25
  • Talk to writing mentor (mandatory). Link to calendly here
